Release Date: Wednesday, May 3, 2023 ANKENY, Iowa – By a vote of 50-0, Fareway Stores executive Andrea Chase was confirmed by the Iowa Senate on April 17, 2023 to the Iowa Alcoholic Beverages Commission. Her five-year term began on May 1, 2023.“I am honored to be given the opportunity to serve the people of Iowa on the Alcoholic Beverages Commission,” Chase said. “I look forward to bringing my alcoholic beverage industry experience to the commission and working with my fellow commissioners to balance business opportunities related to alcohol with sound public policy protecting public health, safety and welfare.”The Alcoholic Beverages Commission is composed of five members chosen on the basis of managerial ability and experience as business executives. The commission partners with the administrator of the Iowa Alcoholic Beverages Division to provide insight and advice regarding public policy and business decisions.Chase is the Vice President of Category Management for Boone-based grocery chain Fareway Stores, Inc. Her previous experience includes a 20-year career with Associated Wholesale Grocers (AWG). She is a board member of the Iowa Grocery Industry Association. She resides in Clive with her husband, Bryan, and two daughters.
